In the event of a fire make sure everyone makes it to a safe place and try to account for everyone. Once you are safe, call 911 and get help on the way. Gather as much information as you can while you are waiting for us to arrive. Our questions will include:
- Is everyone safe? This is the first and most important question we will ask. This tells us how to proceed, do we need to start fighting the fire or start a search, and how aggressive we need to be. Please include information about size\age, names, possible locations. If animals are inside, please include them and let us know they are animals.
- Are there any hazards? We need to know if is there anything that might harm us or anyone on the scene. Ammunition, explosives, drugs\paraphernalia, chemicals, structural integrity, just to name a few. Be honest and know of things ahead of time.
- Where is the nearest Fire Hydrant? We generally know where they are, but if you know of one near by it could save time.
